Fluid is Stuck at 940

Responsive is nice when sites are viewed on smaller devices, but should also be able to expand to larger resolutions. Especially true with retina tablets and pcs connected to HDMI 52 inch flat screens.

When i select the fluid option I would expect the body content and left, right or left/right columns to expand just as the header background and site background does.

Is their a css fix for this?
Should fluid do this but there is an issue with the current theme?

Thanks for any help.
Mike

the fluid is set to max-width: 960px max to so that your content doesnt explode and look awful on larger monitors.

you can change the css if you like, its;

.page-wrapper { max-width:XXX }

Mark,
seems like something else is limiting it,

i have
.page-wrapper { max-width:1200px}

now but 2 columns stop at around 960.

ideally would like the left and right columns set to a fixed width and center core content be fluid.

Thanks

you’ll need to add this;
#core_header, .navbar, #core_columns_wrapper, #footer, #footer_bottom p, #core_main_breadcrumbs_wrapper, #core_header_navigation .navbar, #footer_bottom_inner, #HomeMainBanner #myCarousel, #core_new_header, #new_top_section {
max-width: 1200px;
margin: auto auto;
}
You can paste the code in your Header custom meta data under admin => Theme Options => Colour Changes

<style>
#core_header, .navbar, #core_columns_wrapper, #footer, #footer_bottom p, #core_main_breadcrumbs_wrapper, #core_header_navigation .navbar, #footer_bottom_inner, #HomeMainBanner #myCarousel, #core_new_header, #new_top_section {

not sure what custom meta data is but in the directory theme under color options is where you control all custom css so that is where I added the above code at the end of the rest of the css for various theme colors

On the next tab is the Custom meta data.

Use the HEADER section and include the style tags too. The code will be added to the header section of the page and override other code.

Something wrong ?

<style>
#core_header, .navbar, #core_columns_wrapper, #footer, #footer_bottom p, #core_main_breadcrumbs_wrapper, #core_header_navigation .navbar, #footer_bottom_inner, #HomeMainBanner #myCarousel, #core_new_header, #new_top_section {
max-width: 1200px;
margin: auto auto;
}
</style>

just add it to your _style.css file in your chiled themes folder.
