Child theme button colours

Hi,

I have the Directory theme installed along with the July Directory 2016 child theme. I like the header layout of this child theme (round dashboard button and menu)

I would like to be able to change the colour of the rounded dashboard / login button, its currently set to a light Blue colour.

I thought just changing the #number to a different colour on the stylesheet css editor in the appearance settings would work but this doesn’t seem to change the colour away from Blue. I would also like to change the search buttons background and hover button colours to match.

Any ideas how this can be done easily?
