How do I configure the submission page to prevent duplicate URL submission – ie Deep linking – multi page submissions?

    eg:

    http://www.mysite.com
    http://www.mysite.com/me
    http://www.mysite.com/you
    http://www.mysite.com/about

not sure why you would want to prevent this, for alot of people this would be a good thing since the user is paying more to submit more links and also some people have different content on different pages so preventing them adding similar links would stop them from listing altogether.

    True enough…..

So suppose the User submits 2 or more of exactly the same page?

    http://www.mysite.com/me
    http://www.mysite.com/me
    http://www.mysite.com/me
    http://www.mysite.com/me

    ……is this allowed? For example?

    Mark
This has to be an option somehow , because i have for example a free listing with one category allowed for 1 week and after it expires the same person can create a new listing with the same url without having to upgrade .
I wouldn’t care if they submit free listing with different url .

Mike, yes, if they want to submit multiple listings then i don’t see any reason why not since they are paying for it.

Can anyone who has some knowledge of coding look at this post http://www.premiumpress.com/forums/topic/subcategory-in-search-results/

the file is unique-url.zip (plugin)in the third post and was working fine with dp 7 to prevent url from being submitted twice .

    Mark

Surely I would NOT want to have the SAME page repeatedly indexed. The crawlers will treat this dimly!

Different pages of the same site – yes [esp if they are paying].

    sure that’s understandable.

A job for a plugin thought i think, not a feature we have built in and unlikely to be.

Preventing duplicate pages is pretty standard in the majority Directory scripts I have looked at – so may I respectfully suggest this as a feature?

of course, im not saying it cannot be done, just saying it would be a plugin not a built in option. :)
