I am having issues with numeric values in custom fields.
I’ve used ‘minimum sale price’ and ‘maximum sale price’ fields as well as the price search widget. It seems like the results are accurate when I type the price without any commas or anything else, for instance “100000”. However, it does not work with a comma “100,000” or a dollar sign “$100,000”. Unfortunately, I have to account for the lowest common denominator when it comes to users so I would like to get this fixed. I’m not sure if I have the fields or advanced search setup wrong or if there is no data validation.
Additionally, I setup a custom field so customers can search for listings by minimum cash flow. I have the same issues with this. Searching by ‘cash flow’ is one of the main features of my site.
I have the ‘cash flow’ custom field setup like this:
– Field type: Input field
– Assign to package: [I have tried selecting all 5 of my packages in this field as well as no packages selected]
– Database key: listing_cash_flow
Then for the advanced search, I have the filter setup in a similar fashion to the ‘minimum price’ filter. Here is my ‘Cash Flow’ advanced search filter:
– Search Field: listing_cash_flow
– Field type: Text
– Data stored as: Numeric
– Returned values must: Greater than or equal
– Display on homepage: Yes
Is there any form of numeric validation that can automatically remove commas or dollar signs that a user may type in?
Anyone else having a similar issue or know how I can correct this?
