microjobs fatal error issue due to old version

Hi,
I purchased MJ theme back in May 2015 and my entire site has broken because I have updated wordpress without updating the theme.
I had a developer change the layout of my site. I also had him change the display of the /ad-listing page by removing the “listing details” for one of my listing packages, but keeping it for another package.
I believe most of the updates were done to my child theme which I downloaded at the same time (microjobs red).
My question is..Can I update the nicrojobs theme to the latest version and still have it work with the child theme (microjobs red) from May 2015?
