    Hi Josh, Jason and Everyone. I hope it helps.

    You don’t have to use any Javascript or coding to enable Menu items to be opened in New Tab, the feature is builtin WordPress. All you have to do is enable it.

    Go to Appearance > Menus
    Click the Screen Options from Right Top Corner

    Check the Link Target. You can select that to enable Open in New Tab for Any Menu or Sub-Menu Item.
