I want to add facebook/twitter like button on top of the website, right under messages, my account, manage, contact links on top of each page. How can I do that easily. Thanks.

Search the WordPress database for a facebook/twitter plugin. There are loads to share.

Use the Simple Twitter Connect plug-in. Its bundled with a widget, tweet & tweetme buttons, WordPress log in using Twitter account to name a few.
