Homepage editor in Responsive Shop Theme

Just wondering why in the homepage tab of the page design section, there is no visual editor for the column objects. In the Shopperpress theme that I have used previously, there was an option to use the visual editor for this feature.

It seems like this and quite a few other features are quite user ‘unfriendly’ and don’t work ‘out-of-the-box. It’s quite a bit of an expectation to assume your customers will have a sound understanding of HTML and CSS. Is there any good reason you decided to omit the visual editor in the column object within the homepage editor?
