When I only enable Exact Title Match under comparison settings, the products is not compared with only exact title match?
There is also compared other products which contains same words in the title!
It works like 5 Character Match ts also enabled, but it’a actually disabled?
How to resolve this?
Perhaps this will shed some light and/or help:
But it not same problem!
If only Exact Title Match is enabled, there should be compared only products with exact title match, right?
Exact title match should work if the “Exact Title Match” setting is turned on AND the “5 Character Match” setting is turned off.
I know that, and “Exact Title Match” setting is turned on AND the “5 Character Match” setting is turned off.
But the products with different titles are still listed/ compared there.
Fore example main product name is “Sandalet”, and there is compared many different products which have word “sandalet” in the title, bat other words too. So it’s not exact match!
Please check attached screenshot…
If the word “sandalet” is actually part of other words, then it’s doing what it’s designed to do. The results will include all titles that contain the “exact match” of the word searched for, even if it’s nested within another word/title.
Unfortunately, the theme isn’t set up to differentiate whether or not the term is the full word to be searched for exclusively or if it’s part of another word/title.
You would probably need to make custom changes if you need to be more particular with the results.
Does that help and/or make sense?
OK, thank you for your explanation!
I’ve modified one of the core files that should work as you expect with a little more “precise” exact Match…. or what you might expect when “Exact Match” is turned on.
To use it only the “Exact Match” can be turned on. If both settings are on or just the “5 Char” then it will not check for the “precise” exact match.
Note: This could have unexpected results when the comparison does not “exactly” match the title, so make sure you run various checks/test to ensure it works how you expect.
Here’s the modified core file (‘/CM/framework/class/defaults_comparison.php’) you can try if you want:
Note: Make a backup of your original “defaults_comparison.php” file before putting the modified copy in there. This is a core file, so if the theme gets updated then this file will be overwritten.
OK, I’ll try!
Thank you very much…
