Hello - I wanted to start fresh with my wordpress site, so I decided to deactivate and uninstall RealtorPress and try to reinstall, but everytime I get this error....

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    Destination folder already exists. /services2/webpages/c/a/cantrellmorgan.com/public/Wordpress/wp-content/themes/realtorpress/

    Theme install failed.

I am not sure what to do, I have gone into FileZilla and deleted the Realtorpress Theme folder, but it gives me the error everytime.

Try reinstalling a fresh install of Wordpress and this should cure it.

Thanks - but I finally found it. In the Settings - Media - it still had all uploads going to the realtor press thumbs folder that no longer existed but it created when before tried to install, changed it back to default and all is well and install sucessfully.

    Thank Sean for you assitance.

I had the same problem, I used to work around it by uploading the whole (unziped) folder into the wordpress themes folder and then activating it in the back-end.
Jeffrey's solution worked for me too, thank you Jeffrey!

Mark, you should address it in some way, not just with a smiley, if you dont want to fix it (its really not that important), at least put a note in the updating instructions that "if you are reinstalling the theme, you will first have to reset the upload folder manually".

Its little stuff like these that have to be taken care of.

    hi Yonah

thanks but i cannot "fix" issues with the WordPress core product, i simply design themes.

Destination folder already exists. is an error WordPress produces when you try to upload a theme with the same name as one that already exists.

Mark, Obviously you didnt read what we ( Jeffery, and I) wrote!

The Folder did not exist!! we are not so stupid, we have erased the folder, the problem is that premiumpress does not reset the default upload folder in the WP options, so when people try to install the theme (by using the WP theme upload option) they encounter somehow the above error.

how can i "reset" the "default upload folder in the WP options"?

doing this every time someone clicks on the "themes tab" would be silly since you then have to go back in and put it back..

    Yonah..no need for the !!!!

sorry for the !!!, I didnt mean it the way it actually seems, I apologize.
I guess you are overworked so you dont have time to read entire posts.
I meant it should reset when the theme is "uninstalled" we uninstalled it properly using the regular WP theme uninstall process, but some settings remain, maybe there is no way to reset settings, I dont know, However, it wouldent be a problem though, because upon installing updated version it will be set anew (as it always does)

Mark, have you found a solutions for this issue? It still exists when deactivating DirectoryPress, deleting the DirectoryPress theme, then browsing to my local zip of DirectoryPress 7094, WP stops, says the directory exists (when there were no directories before, now there is the thumbs directory only.)

what happens is WordPress created the folder due to the media paths they use being set to directorypress, in version 7.0.9.4 i added some code to disable media paths when uploading a new theme folder.
