cannot find 2 columns footer option

Hello, trying to set up the footer for a directory press theme. I see in the WP Admin Backend there is footer layout options under Theme Setup > Footer. But these do not seem to include a 50% or in Twitter Bootstrap .col-sm-6. I tried overriding the css to make them 50% each but then one of the columns seems to disappear on small/mobile screens.
